Custom Logo Golf Balls — The Complete OEM Buyer's Guide

Custom Logo Golf Balls — The Complete OEM Buyer's Guide

So you want your logo on a golf ball. Maybe you're launching a brand. Maybe you run a resort and want branded balls in the pro shop. Maybe you're organizing a corporate tournament and need 500 balls with your client's logo by Friday.

Whatever the reason, ordering custom logo golf balls from a factory isn't complicated — if you know what to ask.

This guide covers what we've learned in 23 years of printing logos on golf balls for brands including Disney and Wilson.

What Can Be Customized on a Golf Ball?

A custom logo is just the starting point. Here's what you can specify:

Logo & Artwork

  • Position: single side, double side, or triple side
  • Colors: 1 to 4 colors per side (more colors = more printing plates = higher cost)
  • Full-color pad printing available for complex artwork

Ball Construction

  • 2-piece: core + Surlyn cover. Durable, distance-driven, cost-effective.
  • 3-piece: core + mantle + cover. Adds spin separation and feel.
  • 4-piece: core + two mantles + cover. Tour-level precision.

Cover Material

  • Surlyn: tough, low spin, longer lifespan. The workhorse.
  • Cast Urethane: soft, high greenside spin. The premium option.

Compression

  • Range: 70–115 depending on construction
  • Lower compression = softer feel
  • Higher compression = more distance potential for high swing speeds

Dimple Pattern

  • Options: 326, 332, 352, 392 dimple counts
  • Dimple pattern affects trajectory and wind stability

Color

  • Standard: white, yellow
  • Custom colors and matte finishes available

Packaging

  • Bulk: balls packed loose in master carton (lowest cost)
  • Sleeves: 3-ball branded sleeve boxes
  • Retail box: 12-ball branded carton (3 sleeves × 4)
  • Custom gift packaging: velvet insert, display box, PET tube

How the Custom Logo Process Works

Here's the typical workflow from first contact to delivery:

Step 1: Tell Us What You Need Share your logo artwork, target quantity, performance goals, and budget range. We'll recommend the right ball construction. If you're not sure, we'll ask a few questions and figure it out together.

Step 2: Artwork Confirmation Send vector files (AI, PDF, EPS) for best results. High-resolution PNG or JPEG works for initial review. We check the artwork for printability — some fine details don't transfer well to a curved golf ball surface.

Step 3: Pre-Production Sample We produce samples with your logo on the actual ball. Typical turnaround: 5–7 working days after artwork approval. You review, approve, or request adjustments. This is your chance to see exactly what your customer will see.

Step 4: Production Once the sample is approved and deposit received, production begins. Standard lead time: 15–25 working days depending on order size and complexity. In-process QC checks happen at every stage.

Step 5: Final Inspection & Shipping AQL statistical inspection before packing. We ship EXW, FOB, or CIF — your choice. Documentation handled.

What Affects the Cost of Custom Logo Golf Balls?

The price of your custom ball depends on five factors:

Factor Impact on Cost
Ball construction 2-piece is most affordable; 4-piece cast urethane is premium
Logo colors × sides 1 color on 1 side = lowest cost. 2 colors on 2 sides = 4 impressions
Quantity 3,000 / 10,000 / 36,000 pcs — tiered pricing. Larger orders = lower per-ball cost
Packaging Bulk is cheapest. Custom retail boxes add cost but increase perceived value
Shipping EXW vs FOB vs CIF vs DDP — we'll help you choose

Example: A 2-color logo on 2 sides = 4 printing impressions. That means 4 printing plates (one-time setup fee) plus per-ball printing charge for each impression.

What's the Minimum Order?

3,000 balls. It's one of the lowest MOQs among quality-focused golf ball factories. Most competitors demand 10,000 or more.

This low minimum exists for a reason: we want startup brands to test the market without committing to a container order. We've seen too many small brands over-order, sit on inventory, and lose money.

Start small. Test. Reorder.

Artwork Tips from 23 Years of Printing

Five things we wish every customer knew before sending artwork:

  1. Vector files print best. AI, PDF, or EPS. Jagged edges don't happen with vectors.
  2. Thin lines disappear. What looks sharp on screen may vanish when printed at golf-ball scale. We'll flag this — but thicker is safer.
  3. Gradients on curves are tricky. A golf ball is a sphere. A gradient logo that looks great flat will wrap unevenly. We can advise.
  4. Pantone ≠ print color. We match as close as physically possible, but pad printing on Surlyn isn't Pantone-perfect.
  5. Send the font. If your logo has text, send the font file. If we don't have it, the system substitutes — and your brand's typography changes.

How Long Does Everything Take?

  • Artwork review & quoting: 24 hours
  • Pre-production sample: 5–7 working days
  • Production: 15–25 working days (depends on order size)
  • Shipping: depends on destination and method
